TAKE A TURN AT THE WHEEL
Throw your own piece on the wheel.
WHEEL LESSON OVERVIEW:
CLAY + CRAFT has carved out a little time and space in our Co-Op Shop in Oceanside to share our craft with others. If you’re looking to play on the wheel, we provide one hour wheel lessons for $100.00. Receive a 20-30 minute demonstration outlining the steps to throwing (ex: centering the clay, forming the bottom, making a pull and shaping the piece). Then, enjoy 30-40 minutes to work at your own pace, ask questions and create one piece to keep. Your creation will be fired, glazed (per your selection), fired again and ready for pick up in a few weeks. Clean up is required at the end of your lesson. Please note, we’re not a full functioning studio. Our workshops and wheel experiences are an extension of our retail store and designed to provide a sampling of what it’s like to create with clay.
WHEEL LESSONS ARE SCHEDULED BY APPOINTMENT:

About CLAY and CRAFT Pottery Classes in San Diego: CLAY and CRAFT’s vision has always been to be more than a one man show. Creating modern pottery has brought us so much joy, creative fulfillment and has taught us so many valuable life lessons. We feel selfish being the ones who get to do all the making and want to share our craft with others. CLAY and CRAFT classes in San Diego are primarily group or workshop type events but we also hold wheel throwing lessons to allow others to play around on the wheel, work at their own pace and receive as little or much instruction as desired. Our pottery classes serve as a great outlet for someone looking to try a new craft or anyone looking for a little clay therapy.
